Be Haunted by Halloween Fun in Rockville!

The City of Rockville has packed October full of family-friendly, fun Halloween-themed events. Here’s the rundown:

Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave.

Pumpkin Carving and Trick or Treat Bag Decorating

2-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15

Carve your pumpkin or decorate your Halloween bag for the big night. The cost for pumpkin carving is $25 per family, and includes one pumpkin and carving supplies, cookies and punch. The cost for bag decorating is $15, which includes a pillow case and decorating supplies, cookies and punch.

Twinbrook Community Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway

Monster Mash Family Dance

7-9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28,

All ages are welcome. Wear your costume! Enjoy pumpkin decorating, crafts and a DJ. Refreshments sold by Twinbrook Elementary PTA. The cost is $3 per person at the door.

Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Drive

Haunted Gingerbread House Workshop
10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 (Course #56344)
1-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 (Course #5634)

Build your own gingerbread house for Halloween. Learn the tricks of the trade and get creative. Fee includes a gingerbread house and all the decorating supplies. Working conditions include plenty of cookies and drinks.

Tiny Tot Halloween Spooktacular

10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, Oct. 18

This special event is designed just for tiny children and their parents. Wear your costume and enjoy a morning of crafts, games, refreshments and Halloween fun. Pre-registration is encouraged. Course #56349 to register for adults: for residents, $8 nonresidents, adults. Register with Course #56350: $2 per child.    

Halloween Haunt

2-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29

Wear your costume for an afternoon of Halloween fun with D’s Magic strolling magician and magic show, Squeals on Wheels petting zoo, kid-friendly haunted room, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, crafts, games and more. $4 per person at the door. Children 1 and younger are free.

Trick-Or-Treat at Thomas Farm Community Center

6-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31

Stop by while out Halloween trick or treating. Visit the kid-friendly haunted room.  $1 per person.

Croydon Creek Nature Center, 852 Avery Road

Croydon Creek Campfire: Spooky Stories

7-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15

A campfire provides the perfect setting for child-friendly spooky stories and a delicious treat. Register for course #56411. Space is limited. All participants must register including adults.

$5 for residents; $6, nonresidents.

Croydon Creep!

6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21

Celebrate Halloween at Croydon Creep! Enjoy a spooky nature trail, magic show by D’s Magic, crafts and activities. All ages welcome but geared towards children under 10 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult; $5 per child at the door. Adults are free.

F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, 603 Edmonston Drive

“Shrek the Musical”
8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29
2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30

Halloween craft activities and treats in the lobby one hour before curtain for all ticket holders. Tickets $22/$20 for seniors/students. Buy tickets at www.rockvillemd.gov/fitzgerald.
