Residents of Montgomery County could see a $13 average hike on their monthly electric bills if a request from Potomac Electric Power — Pepco — is approved by the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC).
The commission is holding two hearings on the proposed increase, which would net an extra $104 million in electric distribution rates.
- The first hearing is 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Montgomery County Executive Office Building, First Floor Auditorium.
- The second is 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, at Prince George’s Community College’s Largo Student Center.
Pepco provides electricity to about 560,000 customers in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in Maryland. According to the PSC, case filings and associated pleadings are available in an electronic docket file (Case No. 9418), which you can access at www.psc.state.md.us.
