Make Jewelry, Learn Pastels This Month at Glenview Mansion Art Gallery

The owner of Simply Pure Creations will be on hand from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Glenview Mansion, with a free jewelry-making demonstration. Learn how to wire-wrap stones, cabochons and sea glass to make earrings, pendants and bracelets.

Bring your own wire, stones/tools or buy them from the instructor. Ages 13 or older. Younger participants must register by calling 240-314-8682 and be accompanied by an adult.

Also on Nov. 12 at the Glenview Mansion (weather permitting), members of the Maryland Pastel Society will be on the lawn painting with pastels. Members will be available to explain the difference between using pastels and other media. The art gallery will also be open to the public from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Members of the Maryland Pastel Society will be on hand to answer questions.

The Maryland Pastel Society ‘s biennial national juried exhibition, “Shades of Pastel” will continue through Friday, Nov. 17.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday.
