All the Doggies, All the Paddle

Doggie Dip Day is Back

The super-popular Doggie Dip Day, where your pooch can paddle in the pool at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, is back — with a few small accommodations to work around the ongoing lobby and locker room renovations.

A slightly scaled-back event will be held rain or shine from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the center, 355 Martins Lane. Dogs will be limited to the ramp area of the recreation pool and the baby pool, and no vendors will be onsite this year.

The smaller event is due to extended use of the outdoor pool’s bathhouse to access the center’s indoor pools while the renovations take place.

Puppers get to pool party for only $5 per pooch. (Humans, you can enter for free, but won’t be allowed in the water due to health and safety reasons.) Written proof of a current rabies vaccination (either a certificate of vaccination or veterinarian’s letter) is required for entry.
