Better Aging: Holiday Eating Help and a More Peaceful You

Get fitter and be happier as you age, with help from these courses at the Rockville Senior Center.

  • Healthy Eating During the Holidays. 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.
    Find out how to optimize the day-to-day food choices that impact your everyday health. A registered dietician discusses the basics of meal planning, what to look for on food labels and diet modifications to help you look and feel your best throughout the holiday season. Register with course #6956 for this free seminar.
  • Self Help with Jin Shin Jyutsu. 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 30-Nov. 13.
    This ancient healing art helps balance the body’s energy and promotes optimum health and healing. Simple self-help will be taught for daily maintenance and to help issues such as stress, tiredness and insomnia, and preventing colds, stomach aches, pain, breathing problems and much more. Register with course #6957. The cost is $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
  • Stress-Reduction Meditation. 1-2 p.m. Ongoing on Mondays until Nov. 19. Offering the tools to focus, relax and come to a more peaceful sense of being, with time for discussion and meditation. Register with course #6197. The cost is $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
  • Skin-Care Clinic. Ongoing on the second Friday of each month.
