September offers two opportunities to create art at Rockville Town Square. Federal Realty and VisArts are partnering with the City of Rockville to offer free outdoor art labs to inspire the artist in you.
Crab-tastic!, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, will offer the opportunity to paint Maryland blue crab shells to create a beautiful holiday ornament or a work of art that can be mounted and framed. Instructors will have designs on hand to inspire even the most novice artist.
Art meets science for Pendulum Painting, on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Participants will create their own painting using a pendulum.
VisArts will provide instructors, art assistants and all art materials. The workshops, which began in August, are held 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the square, at 131 Gibbs St. Reservations are not required, but supplies are limited and first come, first served.
