Music, Local Food Favorites and Parade Return May 25-27
More than 25 regional and national performing artists return to Rockville Town Center this Memorial Day weekend, along with the best of local food, for the Hometown Holidays Music Fest.
The 31st annual free festival will feature four stages of entertainment, the Taste of Rockville, “the beach” sand pile and activities for kids, from noon-8 p.m. Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.
Saturday’s entertainment schedule will include a taste of New Orleans on the Bud Light Stage, with the swamp rock of New Orleans Suspects from 4:30-6 p.m. and the Crescent City funk of Dumpstaphunk from 6:30-8 p.m. Also Saturday, The Black Lillies, from Knoxville, Tennessee, will bring their Americana, rock, blues and soul sound to the Maryland Avenue Stage from 6:30-8 p.m.
New Jersey’s Remember Jones performs pop, soul and rock tunes on the Maryland Avenue Stage from 4:30-6 p.m. Sunday, followed by the Americana and rock ‘n’ roll of Nashville, Tennessee’s Them Vibes from 6:30-8 p.m.
On Sunday, the Bud Light Stage will have a local flavor with Lloyd Dobler Effect (2-3:30 p.m.), Kelly Bell Band (4:30-6 p.m.) and The Nighthawks (6:30-8 p.m.). Many other local acts, including Jah Works and 8 Ohms Band, will also be returning.
The Town Square Stage will offer family fare. Get up close with the live animals of Reptiles Alive! from 1:15-2 p.m. and 2:30-3:15 p.m. Saturday. Rock out to original songs about the adventure of growing up by Here Comes Trouble from 3:45-4:30 p.m. and 5-5:45 p.m. Sunday.

The city’s 75th annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, May 27, in Town Center. Applications to participate in the parade or to highlight your community group with a booth during the music festival are available at www.rockvillemd.gov/HTH. The festival is just a five-minute walk from the Rockville Metro station and parking is available throughout Town Center.
