Mayor and Council Help Theater Arts During Tough Times

The Mayor and Council recently issued $15,000 in one-time grants to Rockville’s resident theater companies to help them weather the COVID-19 emergency.

Rockville Little Theatre, Rockville Musical Theatre and the Victorian Lyric Opera Company, which perform seasonally at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, each received $5,000. The resident companies are almost entirely volunteer run.

The grants are included in the Fiscal Year 2021 budget, which begins July 1. See the FY 2021 budget at www.rockvillemd.gov/budget.

Due to the COVID-19 emergency, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre is closed until further notice. For more information, and for tickets for shows beginning later this year, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
