Mayor and Council to Review Rockville’s Climate Action Plan

The Mayor and Council are scheduled to review Rockville’s first draft Climate Action Plan during their meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6.

With the Climate Action Plan, city government is working with community members to develop a comprehensive list of actions to equitably reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and build community resiliency.

Over the past year, the city’s Environmental Management Division held virtual public meetings and online office hours and conducted surveys to solicit community input on the plan. A virtual open house was held in the summer to get feedback from the community on the draft plan goals, a pathway to greenhouse gas reduction and a draft list of 41 actions. After a year of community engagement, the city received robust feedback from more than 575 respondents.
