Newton Elected to Maryland Municipal League Board

Appointed Chair to Legislative Committee

mayor candid finalRockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton has been elected to the board of directors of the Maryland Municipal League (MML) and was also named chair of the organization’s legislative committee.

Newton will serve as a member-at-large on the MML board of directors after having previously served as a member-at-large on the 2015-2016 board of directors. For the past year she served as chairwoman of the MML Legislative Committee during her fifth term on the committee.

Newton was elected as a Rockville councilmember in 2009 and as mayor in 2013 and 2015, and served as president of the Montgomery Chapter of MML from November 2012 to June 2015.

MML is a nonprofit and nonpartisan association that supports municipal government through advocacy and development of effective leadership. The organization represents 157 municipalities and two special taxing districts in Maryland.
