Political Intrigue, Puppers and Poison, This Month at the Theater

A comic operetta, then adorable golden retrievers and, finally, a madcap classic kick off in September at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.

“The Queen’s Lace Handkerchief,” presented by the Victorian Lyric Opera Company. 8 p.m. Sept. 6-7; 2 p.m. Sept. 8.
Political intrigue. Love triangles. Pie. Everything you could ask for in a comic operetta. Tickets cost $28; $24 for seniors; and $20 for students.

The Golden Ratio Live. 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
Your favorite squad of golden retrievers from TheGoldenRatio4 and an evening sharing secret stories of the dogs and humans — plus a crazy Florida Man story for good measure. Tickets are $25; $20 for seniors, students and children.

“Arsenic and Old Lace,” presented by Rockville Little Theatre. 8 p.m. Sept. 27 and 28 and Oct. 4 and 5; 2 p.m. Sept. 29 and Oct. 6.
The classic mystery-farce about two delightfully poisonous old ladies, their daffy nephew and an eccentric cast of madcap characters. Tickets are $22; $20 for seniors 62 and older, and students.
