The Rockville Recreation and Parks Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Croydon Creek Nature Center on Wednesday, Oct. 10. The Board of Directors thanked volunteers and donors who helped the foundation raise more than $100,000 over the past 10 years. Contributions from the foundation include support for the Recreation Fund to help send kids to camp and other activities; purchasing equipment, such as accessible birdwatching binoculars, pictured, at Croydon Creek Nature Center; electronic scoreboards and safety wall pads; and helping to renovate the ballfields at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park to increase durability and playing time.
