Summer Mental Health Counseling Available for Kids

Counseling is available this summer for kids 18 and younger through the Rockville Community Services Division. The counseling is for children, youth and families experiencing mild mental health problems related to their personal, social or family well-being.

The Community Services Division is certified as a regional youth services provider and offers formal counseling to young people and their families who live in or attend schools located within Rockville city limits.

Referrals are usually made by family members, school staff or county agencies. On referral, a psychosocial intake assessment is completed, a treatment plan formulated with the client and weekly counseling scheduled.

Sessions are held in the Community Services Division office at Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., or in the guidance offices of Rockville, Wootton and Richard Montgomery high schools.

For a counseling referral or for more information, contact James M. Miller, youth and family counselor, at 240-314-8318 or [email protected].
