Time to Celebrate the Holidays at the F. Scott Theater

A Rockville tradition returns, learn how the city has inspired an author, get an opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and celebrate the holiday with music. Here’s what’s taking place in December at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre!

Rockville Civic Ballet presents “The Nutcracker.” 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 1 and 8; 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 2 and 9.

Join Clara on her magical journey in what has become a Rockville holiday tradition. Tickets: adults, $17; seniors 60 and older and children 12 and younger, $13.

Glenview Mansion and Peerless Rockville Speaker Series presents “Fiction Imbued by Place: Rockville Stories,” presented by Ellen Prentiss Campbell. 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and Social Hall.

Campbell’s National Book Award-nominated collection, “Contents Under Pressure” has several stories inspired by Rockville. Free.

Holiday Festival at the Civic Center. 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. at F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and Social Hall.

Head to the F. Scott for an afternoon of holiday fun! Enjoy holiday decorations, arts and crafts, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a variety of musical performances. Open and free to the public.

Rockville Concert Band presents “Winter Celebration.” A concert that is everything we love about the holiday season, led by guest conductor Juan Gallastegui. 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16. No tickets required; a $5 donation is suggested.

“Holiday Concert,” presented by the Rockville Chorus, under the direction of Bryan Seith. 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16. No tickets required; a $5 donation is suggested.
