What You Need to Know About Rockville’s 2019 Vote by Mail Election

The City of Rockville will conduct a Vote by Mail election this fall for mayor and four councilmembers, who will serve a four-year term. 

With Vote by Mail, ballots are mailed to registered voters at their address of record, who return them by postage-paid mail or to a secure ballot drop box at City Hall.

The city will no longer operate polling places — however, a vote center will be open at City Hall from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 5.

WHEN WILL I GET MY BALLOT?

Ballots will be sent to registered voters on or before Oct. 11. If you do not receive a ballot by Oct. 18, call 240-314-8286.

All ballots must be received at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 to be counted. Postmarks do not count. Ballots can be returned:

HOW DO I RETURN MY BALLOT?

By Postage-paid Mail: Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Nov. 5. Postmarks do not count.

24/7 Drop Box: Drop off your completed ballot anytime, 24/7, before 8 p.m. Nov. 5, at the election drop box in the upper parking lot of City Hall.

Vote Center: Registration will be available for eligible residents on Election Day. Those residents can register and cast their vote from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at City Hall. Assistance will be available.

WHERE CAN I FIND ELECTION RESULTS?

Unofficial results will become available as soon as possible after the election deadline, 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Official results will be certified and announced on Nov. 12.
