Mayor and Council Name Conway as New City Clerk

The Mayor and Council named Kathleen Conway as the new City Clerk/Director of Council Operations on April 11. Conway will start Monday, May 9.

Conway has served as Senior Director of Benefits for Interstate Hotels & Resorts in Arlington, Virginia, since April 2013. Her career includes over 20 years of management experience in program management, information technology, organizational development, human resources and training. She will report directly to the Mayor and Council and will serve as a vital link between the Mayor and Council and the community. Duties of the office will include all the responsibilities of the City Clerk, but will also include advanced research, analysis and coordination of Mayor and Council initiatives.

“The Mayor and Council are thrilled to announce that Ms. Kathleen Conway has accepted the position of City Clerk/Director of Council Operations,” said Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton. “Kathleen has served on the Rockville Sister City Corporation and the Ethics Commission and is a longtime Rockville resident. She brings a passion for public service and will be a tremendous asset to the governing body.”

Conway will also administer city elections, provide staff support to the Board of Supervisors of Elections and the Compensation Commission, and maintain up-to-date records for the city. “My family and I are long-term Rockville residents and I am looking forward to serving my community,” Conway said. “I believe my career successes will allow me to deliver the results the community expects from this position.”
