The City of Rockville honored the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in January with a week of service activities and the city’s 52nd annual celebration of the civil rights leader. The celebration at Rockville High School included a film screening of “Finding Fellowship,” which recounts how three racially segregated churches in Gaithersburg merged in the months following King’s death. The celebration included a discussion of the film with (L-R) Rockville Human Rights Commission member Amina Shafi-Rogers; the Rev. Gerard A. Green, who is featured in the film; and Kisha Davis, the film’s co-producer. Find Rockville 11’s coverage of the celebration at youtube.com/cityofrockville and learn more at www.rockvillemd.gov/mlk.
