60-Plus? Make Friends and Learn Something New This Spring at the Senior Center

Rockville is springing the 60-plus crowd forward into warmer weather with its packed 2024 spring guide, full of programs, courses and events coming for Rockville’s seniors.

“Adults 60+” will be available online at www.rockvillemd.gov/guide and in print beginning Friday, Feb. 2 at the Rockville Senior Center.

The guide outlines activities, such as health, fitness, events, classes, programs and services, that are available at the Rockville Senior Center, including:

  • Cooking classes with Chef Alba, where you learn how to cook a meal like a pro (even if you’re not).
  • Crafty projects to bring some beauty to your home, whether painting a lemonade pitcher, personalizing a welcome mat or learning watercolor.
  • Trips near and far (some of which you can take from the comfort of your favorite chair).
  • Going from computer neophyte to digital native with expert tuition.
  • Getting fit and healthy, whether ballroom dancing or sampling the senior center’s numerous fitness programs, from yoga to cardio to tai chi.

Registration for classes and programs begins Tuesday, Feb. 27 for senior center members and Thursday, Feb. 29 for general registration.

Register online at www.rockvillemd.gov/registration or in person at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., or the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive. Learn more about the senior center at www.rockvillemd.gov/seniorcenter.
