Recycling and Trash Collection Schedule for 2022

The city’s recycling and trash collections usually occur Monday through Thursday. If a city holiday falls Monday through Thursday, all collections scheduled on or after the holiday will be made one day later than usual that week. In 2022, there are several city holidays when city government will be closed but recycling, trash and yard waste collections will take place as usual.

  • Friday, Dec. 31: New Year’s Day (observed). No changes. Collections as usual this week.
  • Monday, Jan. 17: Martin Luther King Jr. Day. All collections occur one day later than usual this week.
  • Monday, Feb. 21: Presidents Day. No changes. Collections as usual this week.
  • Monday, May 30: Memorial Day. All collections occur one day later than usual this week.
  • Monday, June 20: Juneteenth (observed). No changes. Collections as usual this week.
  • Monday, July 4: Independence Day. All collections occur one day later than usual this week.
  • Monday, Sept. 5: Labor Day. All collections occur one day later than usual this week.
  • Monday, Oct. 10: Columbus Day. A federal holiday, but not a city holiday. No changes. Collections as usual this week.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 8: Election Day. No changes. Collections as usual this week.
  • Friday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day. No changes. Collections as usual this week.
  • Thursday, Nov. 24: Thanksgiving Day. Thursday collections occur Friday. No other changes this week.
  • Monday, Dec. 26, 2022: Christmas Day (observed). No changes. Collections as usual this week.
