City Academy Offers a Fresh Perspective of Rockville’s Government, in Spanish

The Rockville City Academy returns in May, offering Spanish-speaking community members an opportunity to better understand how the City of Rockville operates, with a closer look at city departments and services. This session of the academy will be presented in Spanish only.  

It will be comprised of four sessions that will connect participants with some of the city staff who help keep Rockville running. Sessions will be held 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 3-12, via Webex, allowing participation from the comfort and safety of home.

Topics will include: 

  • Understanding the city and how to voice your opinion.
  • Housing and community services.
  • Community-friendly policing.
  • Recreation and resources for families and children.


Registration will be open from Monday, March 14-Friday, April 22 at www.rockvillemd.gov/academy. Spaces are limited. Participants must be 16 or older. Student Service Learning hours are available.

‘Rockville City Academy’ Ofrece Una Nueva
Perspectiva Del Gobierno Del Ciudad, En Español

La Academia de la Ciudad de Rockville regresa en mayo, ofreciendo a los miembros de la comunidad de habla Hispana una oportunidad para comprender mejor cómo opera la Ciudad de Rockville con una mirada más cercana a los departamentos y servicios de la ciudad. En esta sesión, la academia se presentaría solo en español.

Estará compuesto por cuatro sesiones que conectarán a los participantes con algunos miembros del personal de la ciudad que ayudan a que Rockville funcione. Las sesiones se llevarán a cabo de 7:30 a 8:30 p.m. los martes y jueves, del 3 al 12 de mayo, y permitirá la participación desde la comodidad y seguridad del hogar.

Los temas incluirán:

  • Cómo funciona de la ciudad y como dar su opinión.
  • Vivienda y servicios comunitarios.
  • Policía amigable y comunitaria.
  • Recreación y recursos para las familias.  


La inscripción estará abierta del lunes 14 de marzo al viernes 22 de abril en www.rockvillemd.gov/academy. Los espacios son limitados. Los participantes deben tener 16 años o más. Las horas de aprendizaje del servicio estudiantil (SSL)  están disponibles.
