Learn About EVs and Green Energy Incentives
March presents opportunities to join the City of Rockville and other Montgomery County partners in getting charged up about the future of clean electric energy.
Rockville is a partner in Montgomery County’s Electric Vehicle Purchasing Co-op, and you can help lead the charge toward electric vehicles and support the city’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the community and municipal government operations by 50% below 2005 levels by 2030, to reach net zero by 2050. Visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/green/zev to learn about the co-op and pledge to make your next vehicle an electric vehicle.
Learn how to join the clean electric energy revolution at Go Electric, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, Campus Drive. The event will offer opportunities to tour electric cars and a Ride On electric bus, learn about car-charging systems, sample sustainable and plant-based food, recycle gas-powered yard equipment and small appliances for free, and turn in old lightbulbs for up to three free light-emitting diode bulbs.
Homeowners, property managers, renters, landscapers, car enthusiasts and builders will all find something useful, including information about discounts and rebates on electric leaf blowers, solar charging and installation incentives for buildings, how to switch from fossil fuels to sustainable electric sources, and other county green energy initiatives.
