The city’s Department of Public Works held a dedication ceremony on June 16 for their fleet’s newest machine: a paver dedicated to the life and legacy of Wayne Butler Jr., a public works streets crew supervisor who died in February. Wayne’s father, Wayne Butler Sr., is a long-time team member of Rockville’s Recreation and Parks Department.
The paver, which has been inscribed with Wayne Jr.’s name, is a symbol of his commitment to Rockville, and the people living in it. City Manager Rob DiSpirito joined Wayne Jr.’s co-workers (pictured) in remembering him as a hard-working, committed member of the City of Rockville team.
