Montgomery County’s pesticide law applies in the City of Rockville and bars the use of most nonorganic pesticides on private lawns, playgrounds, mulched recreation areas and childcare facilities.
Organic lawn care is healthier for children, pets and the environment. And it doesn’t mean your lawn has to be any less healthy or green.
Using a sharp mower blade to cut grass higher than 4 inches, pulling weeds by hand and overseeding – especially in the fall – to create a denser lawn where it’s harder for weeds to grow, are a few steps you can take to keep your lawn healthy and green, even without pesticides.
