Rockville artist Liliane Blom’s has been featured among five must-see cultural events in the D.C. region for her VisArts exhibition, “Pink — A Cherry Blossom Fantasy.”
The Dec. 5 article, “A World of Art in the Season of Giving,” is featured on Christie’s International Real Estate’s “Luxury Defined” blog. The post calls Blom’s exhibition “[e]nchanting,” and “a joyfully interactive installation for all ages, with more than a touch of the Land of Oz.”
“I was astounded the first spring I lived in Rockville to discover that the trees lining the street had the most amazing big, fluffy, dreamy pink blossoms,” Blom says in an artist’s statement about the exhibition on her website, lilianeblom.com. “I am still amazed 25 years later. Still besotted.”
Blom is a classically trained painter and photographer, and also an installation artist, according to VisArts’ webpage that details the exhibition. Of French and Norwegian extraction, Blom lives in Rockville and exhibits frequently around the Washington region. She serves on the City of Rockville’s 11-member Cultural Arts Commission.
The exhibition runs until Jan. 15. For more, visit VisArts’ webpage at www.visartsatrockville.org.
