Mayor and Council to Hold Town Hall on Diversity, Feb. 9

The Mayor and Council are inviting Rockville residents to a conversation about how the community can become a more inclusive place to live and work.

A Thursday, Feb. 9, evening town hall aims to foster dialogue about how to improve the city’s efforts to welcome and engage its diverse residents. Rockville is the 14th most diverse city in America and one-third of its residents were born outside the United States.

Human Rights Commission Chair Ebony Davis and former Rockville City Police Department chief Terry Treschuk will facilitate the town hall. Audience members will be able to address the Mayor and Council.

The town hall will run from 7-9 p.m. in the Carnation Room of the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive.

La Alcalde y el Consejo llevarán a cabo una reunión municipal sobre la diversidad el 9 de febrero.

La Alcalde y el Consejo invitan a los residentes de Rockville a una conversación sobre cómo la comunidad se puede convertir en un lugar más incluyente en el cual vivir y trabajar.

Una reunión municipal durante la tarde el jueves, 9 de febrero, busca albergar un diálogo sobre cómo mejorar los esfuerzos de la ciudad para dar la bienvenida e involucrar a sus residentes diversos. Rockville es la ciudad numero 14 más diversa en los Estados Unidos y un tercio de sus residentes nacieron fuera del país.

La Presidenta de la Comisión de Derechos Humanos, Ebony Davis, y el ex Jefe del Departamento de Policía de la Ciudad de Rockville, Terry Treschuck, facilitarán la reunión municipal. Los miembros del público podrán dirigirse al Alcalde y al Consejo.

La reunión municipal se llevará a cabo de 7 a 9 p.m. en el Salón Carnation de Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive.
