Yarn Bombs Away!

The crocheted creations of a stealth knitting group will again adorn the railing of the second floor porch fronting Glenview Mansion, signaling that knitted graffiti is back.

Last year, the knitters decorated trees in front of F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre with cozies and little woodland animals. This year, these yarn bombs come just in time for the student art show (opens Feb. 19) and Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14). Yarn bombing, the practice of covering objects in public places with colorful knitted or crocheted designs, has gained popularity worldwide as an expression of creative art.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Thursday. The facility is closed on weekends and official holidays.
