Wootton High to Host Screening of ‘The Mississippi Delta Chinese’

The Thomas S. Wootton High School PTSA presents a screening of “Honor and Duty: The Mississippi Delta Chinese” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28 in the auditorium of the school, at 2100 Wootton Parkway.

The 71-minute film tells the story of early Chinese immigrants who settled on the Mississippi Delta during the 19th century and steadily grew as a community in the early 20th century. Executive Producer E. Samantha Cheng will discuss the film after the screening. A light dinner will be provided, for $2 per person, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Student volunteers can earn Student Service Learning hours.

Look for an RSVP on the PTSA’s website at https://sites.google.com/a/tswoottonhs.org/ptsa.
