New Opportunity to Go Solar

Co-op Will Build on Record Success of 2015

Looking to go solar? Rockville, in partnership with Montgomery County and the City of Takoma Park, is offering a new solar co-op opportunity this summer. Based on the same principle as buying in bulk, the group will go through the process of going solar together by working with a local nonprofit MD SUN to select an installer for rooftop solar panel systems.

Last year, Rockville’s became the largest solar co-op ever in Maryland, resulting in 63 signed contracts and ultimately creating a total installed system size of 442 kilowatts – large enough to generate an estimated 11.7 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy over the next 20 years.
