Skate Park Hours, Helmet Policy to Change

Operational changes are coming to Rockville’s skate park, July 1. Two of the most significant are to the facility’s hours of operation and helmet policy.

The park’s hours for the summer season, from June 15-Sept. 3, will be 3-8 p.m., Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday; and noon-8 p.m., Sunday. Hours change seasonally. Check the skate park’s website for updates — www.rockvillemd.gov/skatepark.

To promote safety, all park users (of any age) must wear a protective helmet. While some “loaner” helmets will be available, visitors are encouraged to bring their own. Staff members will be on duty to enforce this policy during operating hours.
