Bike Rockville This Summer with RBAC

Neighborhood Rides are Held Every Tuesday

Rockville was recently reaffirmed a “Bicycle Friendly Community” at the bronze level by the League of American Bicyclists. The Rockville Bicycle Advisory Committee (RBAC) meets monthly, represents a broad range of bicycling interests and hosts free bicycle rides throughout the summer. Learn more at www.rockvillemd.gov/rbac and join RBAC on these free, family-friendly rides:

Tuesday Evening Bike Rides at 6:30 p.m. on July 5, 12, 19 and 26 (meet at Best Western, 1251 W. Montgomery Ave.) and Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 (meet at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive). These casual neighborhood rides will be 60-90 minutes long, on paved, shared-use paths, some sidewalks and streets with traffic.

Ride Rockville’s Bicycle Beltway at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 10 (meet at Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Drive) and Sunday, Aug. 14 (meet at Thomas S. Wootton High School, 2100 Wootton Parkway). Ride the Carl Henn Millennium Trail, a shared-use path that makes a 10.6-mile loop around Rockville. Rain at the start cancels the ride; wet pavement does not.

Kidical Mass Family Rides at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 16 (meet at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, 355 Martins Lane); and Saturday, Aug. 20 (meet in front of the King Farm Village Center Safeway, at 403 Redland Blvd.). Ride shared-use paths, bike lanes and low-traffic residential streets. The ride will be at the pace of the slowest rider.
