Opportunity to Comment on Historic Resources Plan Update

Members of the public are invited to share their thoughts and ideas for updates to the 30-year-old Historic Resources Management Plan, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at a meeting conducted by city staff and consultant firm JMT. The discussion will be held at City Hall.

The new plan will be a living document that can be updated as required, while incorporating a narrative describing periods of Rockville’s development, lists of resources and methods of protection, and the implications for various stakeholders, such as the Mayor and Council, the Planning Commission, the Historic District Commission, Peerless Rockville, historic property owners and the public.

The plan will include a comprehensive database of frequently updated historic resources and feature a 10-year action plan, with detailed priorities and implementation steps for historic preservation in the future.

For more information on the Historic Resources Management Plan update, contact preservation planner Sheila Bashiri at 240-314-8236, or [email protected].
