Stay Healthy at the Senior Center this January

Rockville Senior Center has several presentations in January to help seniors stay happy and healthy.

All sessions are from 1-2 p.m. in the center’s Azalea Room.

Senior Smile: Thursday, Jan. 4. A free discussion of seniors’ dental needs. Register with course #2804.

How to Stay Healthy, Happy and at Home: Tuesday, Jan 16. Discuss the physiological and health implications of chronic stress on seniors’ lives, safety precautions and community resources for seniors to avoid moving into a nursing home prematurely. Register with course #2795.

Caring for Osteoarthritis and Knee Pain: Thursday, Jan 18. Explore the causes of osteoarthritis, long-term consequences of arthritis pain and advances in osteoarthritis treatment of knees, shoulders and hips. Register with course #2794.

Healthy Skin and Skin Cancer Awareness: Wednesday, Jan 24. A presentation on the definition of skin cancer, self-diagnosis and treatment options. Register with course #2799.

Shingles: More Than a Rash: Thursday, Jan. 25. Learn about the causes, signs, symptoms, treatments and prevention of shingles. Register with course #2787.
