Song, dance and music fills the stage of the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre this month.
“The Merry Widow,” presented by the Victorian Lyric Opera Company, tells the story of Hanna Glawari, a famous, wealthy widow from a fictional eastern European country whose ambassador attempts to find her a new husband and keep her fortune in the country, saving it from bankruptcy. 8 p.m. Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3; 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4.
Tickets for adults are $28; $24 for seniors (65 and older); and $20 for students.
The Rockville Concert Band will perform “Medieval Times,” conducted by Music Director John Saint Amour at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11. No tickets required, but $5 is the suggested donation.
The classic fairytale set to Tchaikovsky’s stunning suite, “Sleeping Beauty,” will be performed by the Rockville Civic Ballet, under direction from Eleanor Simpson. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17; 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18. Tickets cost $17 for adults; $13 for children (12 and younger) and seniors (aged 60 and older).
