Recognizing concerns about recent announcements regarding Rockville Town Center, the Mayor and Council will hold a Town Hall meeting to hear concerns expressed by the community.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 in the Buchanan Event Room at VisArts, 155 Gibbs St.
Rockville Town Center is a critical part of the city’s economy and an important gathering place.
The Mayor and Council’s goal has always been to create a vibrant downtown for Rockville. The City of Rockville has supported this with events such as Hometown Holidays, Rocktobierfest and the Memorial Day parade, and has partnered with Federal Realty and VisArts to bring arts events, movies and concerts, and an annual ice-skating rink to the heart of Rockville.
Despite some recent business closures, Rockville Town Center continues to experience growth. People choose Rockville Town Center as a place to live, and the city is about to see several large residential projects break ground within the next year.
Rockville’s Mayor and Council, and the City Manager, have been meeting regularly with Federal Realty and downtown merchants, and are working with the Rockville Chamber and REDI to support and improve our downtown.
All are welcome to attend the Town Hall.
