2018 Holiday Drive Continues in December With Annual Gift Drive

The Rockville Holiday Drive is in full swing, and your community needs your help!

In November, the Holiday Drive distributed 480 Thanksgiving meal boxes and hosted a catered meal for 103 seniors. Over 770 Rockville families and senior households in need have been referred for assistance during the December holidays, including more than 1,300 children.

In December, the Holiday Drive distributes new toys for kids, Target gift cards for teens and grocery store gift cards for seniors, and matches select families with donors for individualized sponsorship. The drive expanded last year to give a new book to every child, from infants to teenagers, and this initiative will continue this year.

You can get involved by:

  • Purchasing new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Especially needed are toys for kids, aged 9-11 (science and craft kits, sports supplies, etc.).
  • Contributing $20 Target gift cards for teens or $20 Giant gift cards for seniors.
  • Donating by check, made out to “Rockville Holiday Drive Fund,” or online at www.rockvillemd.gov/holidaydrive.

Donations are accepted at City Hall (111 Maryland Ave.) and at Rockville community centers. The donation deadline is Thursday, Dec. 13.
