Say ‘Yes, Please!’ for Free Trees This Spring

The City of Rockville plans to mark Earth Month in April by giving away 300 trees to celebrate its 30th consecutive year receiving a Tree City USA designation from the National Arbor Day Foundation.

The “300 for the 30th” giveaway will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive. City of Rockville residents, including homeowners, homeowners’ associations and nonprofits will be able to choose up to two free trees, from among a selection of large shade trees and small flowering trees. City staff will provide tree planting demonstrations and advice for caring for trees, and the city will hold a ceremony celebrating Arbor Day and three decades as a Tree City USA.
