The Mayor and Council will hold two public hearings on recommendations from the King Farm Task Force for the future of the 7-acre, historic former farmstead at 1101 Grand Champion Drive. The task force was formed to investigate options for rehabilitation, redevelopment and community use of the historic property.
The public hearings will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the King Farm Community Center, 300 Saddle Ridge Circle.
The King Farm Farmstead comprises eight buildings at the northern edge of the King Farm neighborhood, including the main residence, horse and dairy barns, and outbuildings. The site was designated as a historic district in 2006 and is part of the city’s park system.
King Farm Task Force members presented their report to the Mayor and Council on June 4.
