The city helps low- and moderate-income homeowners make repairs to their homes through the Single-Family Rehabilitation program, a forgivable loan program funded by Community Development Block Grants.
Typical repairs covered with CDBG funding include roof replacement, plumbing and electrical upgrades, furnace replacement, and kitchen and bathroom repairs. The city has approximately $122,000 to contribute to projects in the next year.
Applicants are assisted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to homes with the most critical needs for improvements to ensure health and safety. The program will cover a portion or all of the repair costs, typically up to $25,000, depending on annual household income.
