Suds & Soles to Close Roads on June 22

The City of Rockville, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, will host the Suds & Soles 5K from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22. Be aware of road closures in the area during the event.

The race will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Maryland Avenue in Rockville Town Center, weave through neighborhood streets and end on Courthouse Square. About 1,000 runners will be passing through the area. 

From 2-11 p.m. the following roads will be closed:

  • Maryland Avenue, from East Jefferson Street (Route 28) to Middle Lane.
  • East Montgomery Avenue, from Maryland Avenue to Monroe Street.
  • Courthouse Square, from Maryland Avenue to North Washington Street.

From 6:45 p.m. until about 8:15 p.m. the following roads will be closed:

  • Neighborhood roads along the course (race marshals will allow cars to enter as breaks in the race allow).
  • Roads along the race course will open as the race allows.

Town Center residents:

  • Fenestra and Victoria: From 6:45-7:45 p.m., access the garage on Middle Lane from Route 355.

PLEASE NOTE: From 7:15-7:45 p.m. there will be limited access to residencies. Race marshals will allow residents to enter as breaks in the race allow. Please plan arrivals and departures accordingly.

  • Palladian: Access the garage from Middle Lane via Route 355.
  • Upton: Access the garage on Helen Heneghan Way via Route 355 and Middle Lane.
