Volunteers Would Serve as Liaisons with Schools
Rockville’s Human Rights Commission is seeking students to serve as liaisons between the commission and high schools that serve the City of Rockville.
The HRC will select 10 students, two from each of the following schools: Richard Montgomery, Rockville and Thomas S. Wootton high schools; Rock Terrace School; and Fusion Academy Rockville. Students must be 10th-, 11th- and 12th-graders. Student Service Learning hours are available.
In this newly created Student Ambassador Program, students will serve a six-month term (from Dec. 18-June 24) and will:
- Participate in HRC meetings and teleconferences.
- Act as liaisons between the HRC and their schools.
- Assist the HRC in planning, executing and improving its programs and initiatives.
- Be recognized at HRC events.
- Receive program certificates upon completion of their term.
The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 15.
