Enter the Human Rights
Student Multimedia Contest
by May 30

Students in grades 9-12 at high schools within the City of Rockville are invited to enter the Human Rights Student Multimedia Contest for a chance to win a first-place prize of $1,000.

Contestants will be asked to create a video, photo, essay, poem or other work of art to raise awareness and encourage thought and understanding of a human rights topic.

The city’s Human Rights Commission sponsors the contest to encourage students to express their creativity and think about human rights. Entries will be judged on creativity, work quality, effort and relevance. First-, second- and third-place winners will be recognized at the city’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration.

Submissions are being accepted through Tuesday, May 30.

For information about how to obtain an entry packet, contact Janet Kelly at 240-314-8316 or [email protected]. For more information, including contest guidelines, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/humanrights.
