A Summer Full of Health Awareness at the Senior Center

Over the next two months at Rockville Senior Center, learn basic first aid, all about aches and pains, and how to get to the root of an illness.

Register at the senior center’s information desk, by calling 240-314-8800 or online at www.rockvillemd.gov/registration. Classes are free unless otherwise noted.

Basic First Aid 1-2 p.m. Monday, July 1
Tips on summer-related heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration, burns, insect bites and wound care. Register with course #10346.
Oh My Aching Back 1-2 p.m. Thursday, July 25.
Maintain a healthy spine and back and what to do when you’re experiencing pain. Register with course #10207.
Stress Reduction/Meditation Mondays, July 1-Sept. 2
Focus, relax and come to a more peaceful sense of being. $30, members; $40, nonmembers. Register with course #10195.
Oral Meds Versus Topicals or Injectables for Muscle/Skeletal and Neuromuscular Conditions 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.
An overview of chronic muscular, skeletal and neurological problems that lead to chronic inflammatory, degenerative and mechanical disorders, and available non-surgical treatments with medications. Register with course #10197.
Functional Medicine: Getting to the Root of the Problem 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.
Finding the root cause of an illness by using individualized, patient-centered, science-based approaches. Register with course #10206.
