Diabetes Self-Management Education Program
A free six-week workshop, held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Mondays from April 1-May 6, that includes techniques to deal with symptoms of diabetes, diet and exercise, use of medications and working effectively with health-care providers. Register with course #9369.

Stress Reduction/Meditation
This class offers the tools to focus, relax and come to a more peaceful sense of being. The cost is $30 for members, $40 for nonmembers. Held from 1-2 p.m. on Mondays from April 8-June 17. Register with course #9370.

Mental First Aid
We often take care of our bodies, but are we adequately taking care of our minds? This free program, held 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, discusses simple ways to improve mental wellbeing. Presented by Adventist HealthCare. Register with course #9386.

Truth About Medicare
Confused about Medicare? What does Medicare cover? Learn the basics about Medicare coverage at this free program, from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. Register with course #9384.

Glaucoma Screening
A simple, free screening to assess peripheral vision, which is first to be affected by glaucoma. Held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17. Sign up in the health room with Betty Figlure or call 240-314-8803.

How Can I Reduce My Joint Pain?
This free presentation covers what’s happening in the body when joints naturally age and become arthritic, and at-home techniques to reduce joint pain. Held 1-2 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Register with course #9385.

Headaches, Vertigo and Dizziness
In this free seminar from Suburban Hospital, Johns Hopkins, learn how headaches differ among age groups; how other health conditions affect migraines and why an individual’s history of headaches is key to proper diagnosis and treatment; and treatment options for various types of headaches. Held 1-2 p.m. Thursday, April 25. Register with course #9396.

HHS/AAHI Resource Table
From 10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, April 23, visit a resource table in the front lobby to learn more about the programs and services offered by Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI).

AAA CarFit
CarFit is a quick, free and comprehensive check of how well driver and vehicle work together. A trained professional completes a 12-point checklist. Participants must register (course #9368) or call 240-314-8803 for an appointment. 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday, April 29.
