Rockville won a prestigious national award, according to the November 1965 edition of the “City of Rockville Newsletter” — the 1965 Honor Award for outstanding achievement in comprehensive planning, bestowed by the American Institute of Planners. So prestigious, in fact, the newsletter dedicated nearly its entire four pages to planning-related topics.
