Before- and After-school Hangouts for Kids, Tweens and Teens

Rockville’s community centers offer safe, fun and supervised programs in your neighborhood where kids can play, learn, have time for homework, and stay busy before and after school.

Whether it’s for students in kindergarten through fifth grade or for tweens and teens, Rockville has a program for your school-aged kid. To learn more about these programs, including times, prices and other important information, register with the course numbers below at www.rockvillemd.gov/registration. Most sessions begin Sept. 4.

Early Birds (course #5443) and Afterschool Adventure (course #5453) at Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway, offer children a safe, fun environment with a computer lab, crafts, organized games and other enrichment activities.

Check out the Clubhouse afterschool program (course #5435) at Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave., where kids spend time learning, creating and exploring, with homework time, snacks and crafts scheduled daily.

Totally Teens (course #5368; for grades 4-8), at Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Drive, and Twinbrook Teen Scene (course #5799; for grades 5-8), at Twinbrook, provide safe, healthy environments that promote positive youth development.

At Lincoln Park, Teen Chat Room (course #7077), for students in grades 6-10, is a two-day-a-week after-school program and a fun, cool place for teens to hang out and use the computer lab and game room. Snacks, homework help, mentoring, games and activities are provided. The program is provided on Tuesday and Thursday, and begins Sept. 18.
