Budget Ideas and Suggestions Wanted

Be Heard at Public Hearings and Through an Online Survey

Opportunities for the community to help the city prioritize what matters most continue in November as the Mayor and Council work on the Fiscal Year 2019 budget.

A public hearing, part of the Mayor and Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 13, will give community members their next chance to provide in-person input for development of the operating budget and Capital Improvements Program for FY 2019, which begins July 1.

An online survey allows community members to choose their budget priorities and offer suggestions, including for increasing revenue, reducing or modifying current services, decreasing costs, and improving operational efficiencies. Staff will compile online submissions and periodically submit them for the Mayor and Council’s review and consideration.

The Mayor and Council are scheduled to adopt the FY 2019 budget in May. For more information and a link to the budget survey, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/budget or call the Finance Department at 240-314-8400.
