Christmas and New Year’s Closures in Rockville

City government and all city facilities will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25 for Christmas and Wednesday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s. 

In addition, City Hall will close from 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 for an employee recognition event. 

During the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks, recycling, trash and yard waste collection will occur Monday and Tuesday as scheduled. Wednesday and Thursday collections will be made one day later than usual. For more information, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/recycling-trash or call 240-314-8568. 

Parking will be free at city-owned meters on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. 

The Rockville Senior Center and fitness room, Glenview Mansion, and the Rockville Civic Center business office will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, as will the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office. The box office will relocate to the Rockville Civic Center Cottage behind Glenview Mansion beginning Tuesday, Dec. 17 while the theater undergoes renovations. Several facilities will offer limited holiday hours: 

Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 24 and 31; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. 

Croydon Creek Nature Center and will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 24, 26 and 31. 

The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open with limited hours and services on Dec. 24 and 31. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for details. 

The Rockville Skate Park will be closed Dec. 24 and will close at 7 p.m. Dec. 31.
