City Police Achieve Accreditation for 10th Time

The Rockville City Police Department has once again been reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Rockville City Police Department Patch

Accreditation is earned through a rigorous and comprehensive review of professional standards in law enforcement. RCPD has been an accredited law enforcement agency since 1994. This is RCPD’s 10th consecutive accreditation cycle. During the recent four-year accreditation cycle, RCPD was compliant with 178 out of 183 standards, a rate of 97%.

The RCPD’s efforts to remain accredited were led by Lt. Kenneth Matney and support service coordinator Max Crago. Matney, Lt. Bill Nieberding and Deputy Chief Andrew Powell attended the CALEA hearings in Winston Salem, North Carolina in July, where the department learned it had again achieved accreditation.
