Coming up at the F. Scott Theater: A Disappearing Scottish Town, Russia Comes to Rockville, a Look West and Holiday Ballets

“Brigadoon,” presented by Rockville Musical Theatre. 8 p.m. Nov. 2, 3, 9, and 10; 2 p.m. Nov. 4 and 11.

The mystery and beauty of the Scottish Highlands is the backdrop for Lerner and Loewe’s magical tale about following your heart and the power of love. With music by Frederick Loewe, and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. Directed by Laura W. Andruski, with musical direction by Joseph Sorge and choreography by Valerie Mikles.

Tickets for adults cost $25; $23 for seniors (62 and older) and students.

Association of Russian-speaking Theaters presents “Peter Pan.” 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.

In Russian, with songs and dance specifically written for the show by Alexander Bondarev and lyrics by Borris Zakhoder, this classic tale features flights to the stars, a mysterious tropical island, dangerous battles and angry pirates.

Tickets for adults cost $20; seniors, students and children, $15.

“Moscow Broadway,” presented by the Association of Russian-speaking Theaters. 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16.

Diana Lyubimova and Igor Portnoy, stars of Russian musical theater, perform in “Moscow Broadway,” which presents Broadway and Russian theater’s most popular hits.

Tickets are $35.

The Washington Balalaika Society presents “Russian Winter.” 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

Features baritone Isaiah Trofimenko and soprano Irina Zagornova.

Tickets for adults are $25; seniors, $20; students, $15; and children younger than 12 are free.

“Head West!” presented by the Rockville Concert Band. 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.

With Steven Wampler, guest conductor. Musical selections depict the American West, from the old West, to the rugged landscape, to the rivers, open plains and cities that remind us why we look to the land of the setting sun.

No tickets required, but a $5 donation is suggested.

Hope Garden Children’s Ballet Theatre presents “A Christmas Carol.” 1:30 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.

A ballet adaptation of Charles Dickens’ iconic holiday story.

Tickets: Adults, $30; seniors, students, children, $25; military/veteran, $25.

Rockville Civic Ballet presents “The Nutcracker.” 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 1 and 8; 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 2 and 9.
