Community Kickoff Planned for
Stonestreet Corridor Study

A study of the Stonestreet corridor will kick off with a community meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 2 at Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave.

The Mayor and Council voted unanimously in February to move ahead with a comprehensive study of over 150 acres along the corridor. The study area covers roughly the east and west sides of North and South Stonestreet avenues, east of the Metro and CSX rail lines, from the northern edge on Westmore Road south to where South Stonestreet Avenue ends at Veirs Mill Road. The study will also build on several previous plans that have addressed the Stonestreet corridor.

The study will identify key sites for short- and long-term action, and will seek to strengthen relationships through outreach and engagement with business owners, tenants and neighbors in the corridor area.
